Spica - | Click here for the brass version of the cake fork
This dessert fork is smaller than a meal fork and is part of a series called Spica, which is a word meaning ear of rice - spica.
While maintaining the delicate appearance of the Spica, we have adjusted the balance of its length and width slightly compared to a dinner fork, resulting in a small yet easy-to-use size.
Works by cutlery artist Hiro Kashihara
Kashihara Hiro's cutlery has a unique surface finish that gives it an antique, classic feel, almost like it has been well-used.
The contrast with the soft gold color of the brass, which gradually becomes apparent with each use, adds a shabby chic touch to the table.
The appeal of nickel silver
Nickel silver is an alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc, and is characterized by its unique soft color.
Also known as nickel silver, German silver, or nickel silver, nickel silverware, which is made by plating nickel silver with silver, was once widely used in Europe instead of pure silver tableware.
It was created as a substitute during a time when pure silver was in short supply, and is said to have been the catalyst for silver tableware, which had previously been reserved for the aristocracy, to become widely available to the upper class.
Hiro Kashihara's works are not silver plated, but instead focus on the burnt color and aging of the nickel silver itself.
An oxide film easily forms on the surface, and with daily use, the texture gradually changes.
One of the charms of this product is that the texture of each piece varies depending on what you normally eat, how you wash it, how you store it, and each person's environment.
Please enjoy your own unique aging experience.
Care
Nickel silver is a metal that is vulnerable to moisture and acid, and its surface color is easily discolored.
To prevent food or moisture from remaining on the dishes, rinse them immediately after use. Please be especially careful when using with citrus fruits, highly acidic foods, or foods that discolor metals, such as tea.
To dry quickly, either stand it upright or wipe off any moisture with a soft cloth before storing it.

Points to note
- Moisture can cause rust and tarnish, so be sure to drain thoroughly after washing before storing. Please be especially careful when using with citrus fruits, highly acidic foods, or foods that discolor metals, such as tea. Moisture in the air can cause the glass to gradually cloud over. If this bothers you, polish it with a cloth from time to time.
- Each piece is made by hand. There may be individual differences in length and shape. We have also intentionally created a worn, aged finish. Please note that there may be small scratches due to the design.
- Do not use in dishwashers, ovens or microwaves.
- The tips of the forks and knives are very sharp, so please handle them with care.
- Depending on the tableware you are using, rubbing too hard may cause scratches, so please be careful when using.
- There is a risk of metal allergies. If any abnormalities occur, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
- Hiro Kashihara's pieces are crafted as delicately as jewelry, so please handle them gently when eating or cleaning.
