Metal Botanical Specimens | Twig wreath
The Twig Wreath is an object that expresses the imagined form of a long, extended new bud.
It is a work born from Hiro Kashihara's imagination: "If a plant were to wither while still possessing its life force, this is how heavy it would feel."
Instead of replicating existing plants, these pieces capture forms that have sprouted in memories and scenes, rendered in metal. They evoke a distinct presence within their weight and stillness.
Neither strictly realistic nor abstract, the pieces leave room for the viewer's imagination to naturally expand, pausing just before one might ask, "What kind of plant is this?"
About the Artist
Hiro Kashihara
He creates small supporting roles that make dining tables cute and delicious.
He started making cutlery because his wife, who loves cooking, collected beautiful tableware and cutlery. He began making them because he wanted to make his wife happy and to give her wonderful tea times.
He began full-scale production in 2020, establishing a style using brass and nickel silver, materials that allow for enjoyable aging, under the concept of "cutlery that grows with you."
Currently, he creates new works with a style that imbues scenes and things he finds beautiful into simple designs.
Each piece is handcrafted by the artist.
Please note that there may be differences in texture, color, shape, and size between the photos and the actual product you receive. We hope you enjoy each piece's unique individuality.
