These pieces were born of Hiro Kashihara's imagination, which wondered what it would be like if a plant, still imbued with its life force, were to wither and take on such a profound weight.
Rather than replicating existing plants, these works capture forms that have sprouted in memories and scenes, fixing them in metal. Within their weight and stillness, a distinct presence arises.
Avoiding being overly realistic or abstract, they leave room for the viewer's imagination to naturally expand before even asking, "What kind of plant is this?"

I create small supporting actors that enhance the cuteness and deliciousness of a table.
The reason I started making cutlery was my wife, who loves cooking, collected beautiful tableware and cutlery. I started making them because I wanted to make her happy and to help her enjoy a wonderful tea time.
Starting serious production in 2020, I established a style using materials that allow for aging, such as brass and nickel silver, under the concept of "cutlery that grows with you."
Currently, I create new works with a style that incorporates scenes and things I find beautiful into simple designs.
Each piece is handcrafted by the artist.
